Should I Count Calories? Are Calories Important?

This is so true.

People are obsessed with counting calories. The real problem for people looking to be healthy and/or lose weight is that they aren’t looking where their nutrition and calories come from.

Assuming that is a pure fruit smoothie on the left, that is an awesome source of calories. I wouldn’t hesitate a moment before smashing that drink down. It’s more important to track the source of your nutrition and what percentage of your calories come from whole, plant-based foods that are high in carbohydrates.

Don’t be wary of calories or carbs— be wary of highly processed and synthetic foods that look nothing like their original forms (or if their original form is unknown!).
