By adding a few spices that should be handy dandy in the spice cabinet to frozen and canned produce, this is a wonderful side dish to throw together to incorporate some more nutrition (and a some spice!) into a meal.
Mean Green Beans is an easy, quick and flavorful side dish to add to a weeknight meal if you ever think you need a little extra spice or nutrition (or both) to your meal. Make it into a meal by serving with your favorite starch (e.g. brown rice or wholemeal bread)
Vegan and free of added salt, sugar, oil, soy, nuts and seeds.

- 1 can (400 g) of diced tomatoes
- 1 lb (500 g) of frozen green beans
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp chili powder
- black pepper to taste
Add all ingredients into a large fry pan. Bring the contents of the pan to boil then turn down the heat to allow the beans and sauce to simmer. Cover the pan and heat the contents until the beans are fully cooked. When the beans are thoroughly warm, uncover the pan and allow the sauce to thicken and deepen in flavor for around 15 minutes. Enjoy immediately.
